How to check EPF balance online via EPF account number
The first way to check your EPF balance is via EPF account number.
Step-1 – The first step is to find out your EPF account number. It is generally written on your pay slip. If you are not aware about EPF account number contact your Employer.
Step-2 – The second step is to open the URL http://www.epfindia.com/site_en/KYEPFB.php and click on the text “Click here to Know your PF balance” at the bottom of the web page.
Step-3 – Select the state of the PF office in which your PF account is maintained. Once you select the state city office pertaining to the state will be listed down. Select city specific office.
Step-4 – Now enter your EPF account number, name as appearing on EPF slip and mobile number.
Step-5 – Click on submit button and EPF balance will be sent to you via SMS on the mobile number specified by you in the form.
How to check EPF balance via UAN
The second way to check your EPF balance is via UAN. UAN or r Universal Account Number is a unique identification number assigned to every PF subscriber. This number does not change when you change your employer. UAN can be generated by the employer by logging in to the EPF website. Follow process given below to check EPF balance via UAN.
Step 1 – Open the web page http://uanmembers.epfoservices.in/
Step 2 – Enter your Universal Account Number of UAN.
Step 3 – Enter your mobile number.
Step 4 – Select your EPF state, and choose your city specific to EFPO.
Step 5 – Fill the captcha code and click on submit. You will receive the EPF balance details on the mobile via SMS.
How to check EPF balance via EPFOHO SMS or Missed Call
The third way to check EPF balance is via SMS or Missed call. In order to use this method, you need to have activated UAN number. In order to check balance, you need to send SMS in a predefined format from your mobile number. The format of the SMS is EPFOHO UAN followed by first three characters of preferred language.
If your preferred language is English than SMS format will be EPFOHO UAN ENG. You need to send this message to 7738299899. Please note that it is mandatory to use registered UAN mobile number while using this facility.
You can also get EPF balance by giving simple missed call to 011-22901406. You will get SMS on registered mobile number.
How to check EPF balance via mobile app
The forth way to check EPF balance is via mobile app. In order to check balance via this method you need to download EPF app from Google Play Store or from the EPFO official website. The mobile app currently in the market is only available for the android version. Once app is installed on your mobile follow the step given below.
Step 1 – Open the mobile app on your phone and click member
Step 2 – Under the Member option, click balance/passbook and then input your 12 digit UAN number. Also feed in your registered mobile number. The system will now verify the mobile number – UAN combination and will throw an error if it does not match.
Step 3 – In case the mobile number-UAN combination is correct, you will be shown a screen which displays your updated EPF balance information.
Step 4 – In case you wish to see your EPF statement, you can press the “view passbook” option and get a detailed statement.
How to access and download your EPF passbook?
The fifth way to check EPF balance is via downloading EPF passbook. Follow the steps given below to download EPF passbook.
Step 1 – Login to http://www.epfindia.com
Step 2 – Go to Our Services >> For Employees
Step 3 -You will find “Member passbook” link in the services section.
Step 4- Click on Member Passbook. Enter 12 Digit UAN number and password of UAN website.
Step 5- On successful login, you will able to see view passbook tab.
Step 6- Click on the button and you will able to see your UAN passbook.
